The university at a glance

Built differently, from the ground up.

Built for working adults

Founded in 1951 as Grantham School of Radio Electronics for returning WWII veterans, and acquired by the University of Arkansas System in 2021. UAG has spent 70+ years serving adult learners, working professionals, and military members.

HLC accredited

Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission — recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and CHEA. The same regional accreditor that covers University of Chicago, Northwestern, and the University of Michigan.

Affordable per-credit pricing

UAG's online undergraduate tuition is $305 per credit hour — among the most accessible regionally-accredited public university rates in the country. Pay only for what you take, no campus fees, no extras.

100% online & self-paced

Every UAG program is fully online with no campus visits required. Coursework is accessible 24/7, designed for students balancing work, family, and military service. No fixed class times.

Generous transfer policy

UAG accepts up to 90 transfer credits (75% of a Bachelor's) from ACE/NCCRS-approved sources including UPI Study. 48 UPI Study courses transfer as named UAG course equivalents — 18 more transfer as electives across business, CS, biology, and psychology.

Military & veteran focus

Originally founded to serve WWII veterans on the GI Bill, UAG remains one of the most veteran-friendly universities in the country. Active-duty military and veterans receive tuition support and academic credit for prior service.

Frequently asked questions

Everything about UAG.

Does University of Arkansas Grantham officially accept UPI Study credits?
Yes. UAG accepts ACE and NCCRS-recommended credits from UPI Study as part of their transfer credit policy. UPI Study courses map to specific UAG course codes (48 named equivalents) plus general electives across business, CS, biology, and psychology (18 elective placements). All credit awards are subject to UAG's review and policy.
Can I earn UAG credits without enrolling at UAG first?
Yes. UPI Study lets you take courses and earn ACE/NCCRS-recommended credit completely independently — no UAG enrollment required. Complete the courses first, then submit your official UPI Study transcript to UAG for evaluation when you're ready to enroll.
How many UPI Study credits can I transfer toward my UAG degree?
UAG accepts up to 90 credits (75% of a 120-credit Bachelor's) from outside sources including UPI Study. 66 UPI Study courses are aligned with UAG's equivalency table — enough to fill the entire 90-credit transfer cap with room to spare.
What's the difference between a 'named' and 'elective' UAG equivalency?
A named equivalency means UPI Study's course transfers as a specific UAG course code (e.g. ACC226, MGT150, FIN307) — it directly satisfies that named course requirement on your UAG transcript. An elective equivalency means the course transfers as elective credit in that subject area (e.g. 'Biology Elective 100 Level'), which fills your degree's elective requirements but not a specific named course.
How long does it take to complete a UPI Study course?
Most students complete a single course in 2–6 weeks of part-time study. UPI Study is fully self-paced with no deadlines — you can move faster through subjects you know well, or slower through more challenging ones.
How does UPI Study compare to taking the course directly at UAG?
UAG's per-credit tuition is $305 (about $915 for a 3-credit course). UPI Study's subscription plans start at $89/month for unlimited access to all 70+ courses — meaning a 3-credit course can effectively cost as little as $42 via the annual plan. The credit value is identical; the cost is dramatically lower.
Is UPI Study good for military and veteran students at UAG?
Yes — UAG was originally founded to serve WWII veterans, and remains one of the most military-friendly universities in the country. UPI Study credits use the same ACE/NCCRS standards as military training evaluations, so they stack naturally with prior service credit.
Why are 3 UPI Study courses not listed on this page?
Three UPI Study courses are excluded from UAG: (1) Environmental Science (ENV 121) is listed as 'no credit to award' in UAG's equivalency table; (2) Trends in Computer Science (CS 140) and (3) Computer Concepts & Applications (CS 150) both map to the same UAG equivalent, and UAG's guidance is to not award credit for both — so we've excluded both pending UAG clarification. All other 66 UPI Study courses are available.
